1st Stop: Charlotte and The Alchemist

Good bye New York!

I am on my first stop, sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to Fort Lauderdale. All I can say about Charlotte is that its airport is awesome.

I just read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, an easy and spiritual read about fate and realizing one’s dream without giving into doubt or fear. It was the perfect read to begin my journey so I decided to share some quotes from the book.

“When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision.”

“The closer one gets to realizing his destiny, the more that destiny becomes his true reason for being.”

“Life attracts life”

“Your eyes show the strength of your soul”

“Don’t give in to your fears, if you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart”

“If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know. There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.”

Last weekend in New York

Hi Everyone,

This is my first blog entry ever! I'm really excited about my trip.

Here is a rough idea of my travels:

September -
I will start in Santiago, travel through the Andes and the region around Mendoza, go to Northern Chile, visit the Salt Flats in Bolivia, visit the desert near Salta, stop in Cordoba and Rosario, and end up in Buenos Aires.

October -
I will most likely spend one month in Buenos Aires volunteering with children.

November / December -
I travel in Southern Brazil, take Portuguese classes, and volunteer with children.

January -
TBD but hopefully I will do some intense traveling! The places I am considering include Machu Picchu, Patagonia, and Colombia.
